Church Committees
Church Council (formerly Administrative Board)
Role of the Church Council
Group of leaders that guides and furthers the ministry of the congregation. The Church Council creates & supervises the strategic plan for an effective congregation. The work of the Church Council is to envision, plan, implement, & annually evaluate the congregation’s ministry and mission. It also does the ministry of administration for the congregation.

Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)
Role of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee
The SPRC focuses on building strong relationships between the staff and the congregation and between the congregation and the district superintendent (DS). Specific tasks include encouraging, strengthening, nurturing & supporting the pastors and staff and their families, including advocating for a healthy work/life balance; promoting unity in the church; conducting annual staff reviews; writing job descriptions for staff; conferring with the DS about the clergy leadership for the congregation; recommending staff positions to the Church Council among many others.

Committee on Finance
Role of the Committee on Finance
The ministry of the Committee on Finance is to nurture the financial vitality of the congregation. This encompasses a variety of responsibilities including providing transparency by sharing clear easy to understand financial reports with the congregation; implementing a strong system of internal controls; & providing for an annual audit of the financial reports. The Committee on Finance also recommends an annual budget inclusive of financial needs for the ministry to which God is calling CFUMC. After Church Council approves the budget, the Committee on Finance then fundraises with the congregation to cover the approved amount. The committee on Finance ensures financial health & sustainability by recommending depositaries and establishing financial policies & procedures for the church to follow.

Board of Trustees
Role of the Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees supervises & maintains all property belonging to the congregation in order that the ministries of the congregation can be effective. Other responsibilities include receiving & administering all gifts made for the congregation; ensuring files of incorporation are kept up to date; maintaining adequate insurance coverage among many others.
