At Cumming First UMC, we believe that our Children’s Ministry is a place where a child’s foundation in their faith can firmly be planted. We guide children to know, show and grow God’s love creating strong roots. Each week we create fun and an intentional relationship with Jesus, that can grow and flourish.
Sunday Mornings for Kids

Trunk or Treat!
It’s fall fun for the whole family! Trunk or Treat is coming up on Friday, Oct. 25. Join us at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Trunk, the Most Creative Trunk, and the Best Costume—so show us what ya got! We are also looking for individually wrapped candy and treats. Drop off bags in the church/preschool office.
Impact
Impact meets during the 9:45 Small Group Hour. IMPACT is designed to be a step in-between our young children’s programs and our Middle School Ministry. Kids experience a Bible Truth each week that is reinforced through Bible Stories, games & activities, and engaging conversation. We empower students to reach out and share God’s love with friends in their classrooms & in their community. Bring your Bible and a friend!
Sunday Night Explosion
Begins August 18th. Brand New Format! Fall Dates: August 18, September 8, October 13, November 3 and December 15th. Kids meet from 4:00 – 6:00 in the Family Life Center. Join us for a Devotion, Awesome Games, and Dinner & Dessert. Click Learn More for info and to register.
Happy Hearts Special Needs Children’s Ministry
Our Special Needs Class meets on Sunday mornings and is designed to share God’s love with those who may have unique learning or physical challenges.
After School
We encourage academic, social and creative growth in a safe, nurturing, Christian environment. We serve Sawnee, Matt, and Cumming Elementary Schools and Otwell Middle School. We offer homework assistance, organized playtime, daily special activities, great snacks and both indoor and outdoor games.
Backpacks of Love
Backpacks of Love is part of the Children’s Ministry at CFUMC. Their mission is to collect food items and distribute them to children in Forsyth County who may not receive meals on the weekends. This special ministry serves elementary through high school-aged children in need.
