We are spreading Christ’s joy and love through generosity.

Giving Reflects God

Giving God our first and best follows God’s loving example and reflects God to the world.

We are a giving people because we serve a giving God. God so loved the world that God gave (John 3:16). God gave us God’s first and best—God’s one and only Son. That gift was sacrificial, costly, and motivated by love for us. To love God is to love God’s ways (1 John 5:2), thus we reflect the love of God in Christ by giving bountifully, ungrudgingly, and sacrificially.

We Give
Because We Love

We give because we love God and all God’s creation. (1 John 4:7-8) Giving reconnects us to our creator, shares God’s love, and helps us find wholeness and purpose (2 Cor 8:4).

The work of God in the world is love. We were created to love as God loves (Gen 1:27; Eph 2:10). God calls us to express God’s love through our generosity (1 John 4:9-11; 1 Tim 6:18). It’s our privilege and joy to participate in God’s healing love through sacrificial giving.

Generosity = Trust

Giving is not ultimately about what God wants FROM us; it’s about what God wants FOR us (Php 4:17). God yearns that our hearts will be fully set free to trust the Lord above any earthly thing.

From God ALL blessings flow (Ps 24:1; 1 Tim 6:17; Jas 1:17). We remember and give thanks for God’s provisions, and we trust God’s future provision by giving in the present. (Deut 26). God enriches us to be generous in every occasion (2 Cor 9:11). Generosity is part of being a faithful steward of God’s gifts. When we give back to God, we are partnering with what God wants and trusting in God’s vision for us and God’s world.

Giving is a Journey

Giving is a journey of learning to love God and trust God with all that we have and all that we are (Deut 8:17-18; Prov 3:9-10; Mt 25:14-30). We step forward in that journey by giving something, giving it consistently, and then growing in our generosity (2 Cor 8:7, 11).
