Family Promise
Family Promise of Forsyth County is dedicated to changing the lives of children and families experiencing homelessness through a community-based approach. They offer a range of programs, including residential services and community-based support, to help families regain stability and independence.
CFUMC Host Weeks
Family Promise offers a “hand-up” rather than a “hand-out”, empowering families to regain stability and independence.
We host families four weeks each year at our Youth House, providing shelter, meals, and compassionate support. During each host week, we welcome 3–4 families, always including children, and walk with them on their journey toward a brighter future.
Upcoming Host Weeks:
May 11-18, 2025
October 5-12, 2025
December 7-14, 2025
Volunteer Training
We encourage all CFUMC volunteers to complete the Family Promise Volunteer Orientation and Training, held monthly via Zoom on the second Tuesday of each month. These sessions provide an overview of Family Promise’s mission, values, and practical steps for volunteering during our host weeks.

Annual Gala
We are excited to announce the 6th Annual Family Promise Gala, a special evening dedicated to raising funds and awareness for families in need in Forsyth County. The event will take place at the Forsyth Conference Center at Lanier Tech on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM.
Funds raised will support our Residential Program as well as our Community Based Services. Family Promise provides short-term housing and goal-oriented programs for Forsyth County residents experiencing homelessness.
In partnership with over 20 area congregations, we first stabilize a family in crisis by providing a place to stay, meals, and loving hospitality. Then, our focus becomes educating and empowering parents to be able to provide long-term stability for their children.
Last year, we were thrilled to have 400 attendees and raised $108,000 to support the Family Promise programs. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we also celebrated the completion of our new building, which houses our offices and Day Center, a significant step forward in our mission to serve families experiencing homelessness.
This event is an opportunity to come together in support of a great cause, enjoy a memorable evening, and contribute to the life-changing work of Family Promise.
Silent Auction
Our silent auction is a highlight of the evening, featuring donated items and experiences generously contributed by our Sunday School classes, Bible Study groups, and individual supporters. As we approach June, we will be reaching out to gather more auction items and experiences to make this year’s event even more spectacular.
Table sales are currently open; individual tickets go on sale June 1st at www.fpforsyth.org/gala.
Enjoy an evening of socializing including a silent auction, dessert auction, cocktails, dinner, music, and dancing. “There’s No Place Like Home!”
