Prayers

“Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.”
— Ephesians 6:18

We promise to support the ministries of this congregation with our prayers.

Jesus prayed and taught his disciples to pray. The early church devoted themselves to prayer. Prayer, therefore, is essential to our identity and to us faithfully fulfilling God’s will in and through us.

Prayer is relational. It involves communication (conversing and listening) and thus essential to our relationship with God. We also pray that our worship of God be Spirit-filled and faithful. Thus, Jesus taught us to say, “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.”

Prayer is transformative – it changes things, mainly us. Prayer connects us with God’s power, aligns our hearts with God’s will, and sustains the church’s work through every season. We also pray that God will bless our outreach that our service bear fruit for the Kingdom of God. “Thy Kingdom come. They will be done as earth as it is in heaven.”

Prayer is an act faith acknowledging we are dependent upon God for all things and God is faithful to provide. “Give us this day, our daily bread.”

Prayer is community building as we grow into a community of forgiveness and love – holding each other in prayer, lifting up joy, concerns, and the needs of our community with compassion and faith. “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

Prayer is seeking of guidance for our church’s leadership, ministries, and mission. “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

Why we pray:

Presence

“And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some...”
— Hebrews 10:24–25

We promise to support the ministries of this congregation with our presence.

Presence is our commitment to show up – to worship, to grow, to serve, and to be in relationship with one another.

We believe our presence matters. Each person’s participation strengthens the body and reflects Christ’s love. We take responsibility for the church acknowledging that we are the church.

We worship together regularly, making space to encounter God and be formed in faith.

We show up in community, knowing discipleship happens best in connection, not isolation.

We bring our full selves, trusting that God meets us where we are and shapes us together into His Church.

We stand with one another, in both joy and hardship, so that no one journeys alone. Thus, we refocus from self to love of our neighbor.

How we are present:

Service

We promise to support the ministries of this congregation with our service.

Service is putting love into action. When we commit to service, we commit to offering our time, talents, and energy in ways that bless others and build up the Body of Christ..

“Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.”
— 1 Peter 4:10

We believe every person has a role to play in the mission of the Church.

We serve in response to Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve.

We use our spiritual gifts and skills, not for personal glory, but for God’s purposes.

We care for one another and our neighbors, living out our faith through action.

We serve with humility and joy, knowing God works through both small acts and big efforts.

Why we serve:

Witness

“You will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.”
— Acts 1:8

We promise to support the ministries of this congregation with our witness.

Our witness is the truth our words and actions point to as that in which we believe. It is sharing the love of Christ in both word and deed wherever we go and proclaiming what God is doing in and through this congregation.

We believe our lives speak of Jesus, whether we realize it or not.

We witness by how we live, embodying grace, forgiveness, compassion, and integrity.

We tell the story of our faith, not perfectly, but honestly and boldly.

We share our church's mission, inviting others into community, worship, and service.

We represent Christ in the world, pointing others toward hope, healing, and new life.

How we witness:
