Children’s Ministry

The Children’s Ministry at CFUMC is dedicated to guiding our children toward a deeper relationship with God through a Bible-focused curriculum that nurtures faith and understanding. We strive to create an environment where learning about God’s Word is both meaningful and engaging. In addition to our regular programs, we host a variety of activities throughout the year for children and their parents, fostering fellowship and community. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for being an important part of our wonderful CFUMC family!

Information on Acolyting

Why Acolyting Matters

Acolyting is the tradition of assisting clergy during worship—lighting candles, helping with processions, and supporting key parts of the service. An acolyte functions as an attendant or helper, a meaning rooted in the historical definition of acolyte as a follower or assistant.

This role is important because it helps maintain the flow, reverence, and structure of worship. Many churches outline clear responsibilities for acolytes, emphasizing how essential they are in preparing the sanctuary and supporting ministers during services.

Serving with Purpose

Serving in children’s ministry is more than volunteering—it’s shaping the foundation of a child’s faith. Every smile, lesson, and moment of care helps kids experience God’s love in a real and lasting way. It’s a meaningful way to invest in the next generation and be part of their faith journey, one Sunday at a time.

Get ready for sunshine, smiles, and summertime fun at Little Friends Camp! Designed especially for children ages 3–5 (must be potty trained), our camps offer three days of imagination, learning, and play in a warm, caring environment.

We offer two sessions each summer — one in June and one in July — and each 3‑day camp is just $130.

Our camps are lovingly led by our wonderful Afterschool Director, Missi Hicks, whose creativity and passion for children make this a summer experience your little one won’t forget!
