Food Pantry

When are we open?

Every Wednesday – 9:00am-11:00am

Are there any requirements to receive help?

Any one may receive help from our pantry. There are no income requirements, but families may receive a full bag of groceries only once per week. Breads/sweets are typically available each week. Some people come every week, while others only come one time. We are here to help out those in our community facing difficult economic times.

How does the Food Pantry operate?

While our Food Pantry distributes for two hours every Wednesday morning, it actually takes a wonderful team of volunteers all week to make this happen. The pantry is stocked and bags are packed 4 times each week. Bread is picked up and delivered Monday through Wednesday. Drivers bring food from ACFB and local stores at least once per week. Donations are sorted and stocked as they come into the church.

How can I help?

You can help in two ways – by donating and/or volunteering. Donations can be non-perishable food items that are currently in date or monetary funds. Food items may be brought to the church during business hours.

Here is a list of food items needed for the pantry:

Monetary items may be given or mailed to the church office. Currently the area in greatest need of volunteers is the Food Pantry Garden. No prior experience is necessary! To volunteer or ask any questions, contact Barbara Ledbetter in the church office.

How can my group volunteer to help the Food Pantry?

Groups that would like to volunteer in the food pantry for a day must contact Barbara Ledbetter at upward@cfumcga.com to fill out the appropriate paperwork. Please know that volunteer opportunities are limited but we do the best we can to help groups get their service hours in.
