FAQ

Here are some common questions:

“I would just die if they made me stand up and say something.”

We assure you, we won’t embarrass you by asking you to stand up or say anything. We ask everyone attending to sign in on an attendance pad.  This is so we can know who you are and can welcome you during the coming week with an email, phone call, or letter, depending on the information you share with us.

“I know my child is going to be too noisy.”

We encourage parents of young children to attend worship service with their children. This begins the good habits of attending worship services at an early age. If you choose, we have a wonderful nursery and children’s program.

“I know I will feel out of place.”

We hope that this webpage will help ease your mind, but if you have a question, please ask someone for help. Each Sunday we have a dedicated team of volunteers who would love to help you feel welcome and answer any questions you might have. We get a steady stream of visitors and are accustomed to questions.

“I am afraid I will say or do something wrong.”

All of us have felt this way when in a new situation. But we hope you see the people of our congregation to be ordinary people like yourself.

“I just want to watch at first and I know that they will try to involve me or sign me up.”

You are welcome to participate in activities that are meaningful for you. Membership is encouraged but we respect the pace at which you are comfortable getting involved.

“I don’t know that much about the Bible.”

Our members come from all kinds of places. Many have not grown up in the church and are learning through a variety of classes and groups. You won’t be put on the spot. We can help you find groups and classes that match your interest  and comfort level.

About the Service

Children

Children are welcome in worship. At 11:00 there is a special “children’s message” time where children are invited forward for a time of instruction prepared especially for them. A nursery with an attendant is available for infants and toddlers.

Ushers/Greeters

Greeters are stationed at all doors leading into the sanctuary to welcome you. Ushers are at the entry doors to the sanctuary to hand out bulletins and help you find a seat. Greeters and Ushers can assist you, offering directions to the nursery or restrooms and answer any questions you might have.

Screens

We use screens in our Services to make worship easy to follow and participation accessible. We also have bulletins, worship books and Bibles available for those who prefer to use those materials.
