Bible Studies & Classes

Fall 2018 Bible Studies & Classes

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

Psalm 119:105

Bible study is important here at Cumming First United Methodist Church.  We offer a variety of classes for people just beginning their Christian journey, or for those who have already experienced deep and meaningful study.  The bulk of our classes follow the school year with a break over the summer.  All are welcome to participate whether you have your membership here with us or not.  Please join us as we delve into scripture together.  What a tremendous gift and opportunity!

Exiled from Israel and held as a political prisoner for Christ on his way to Rome, Paul had something to say to the believers in Ephesus and Asia Minor.
He spent more than three years ministering in the region.
He lived there, preached there, was persecuted there, bled there and nearly died there. He also never wavered.
Come join in this opportunity for spiritual growth while looking at Paul’s grand vision for the church as Christ’s people.

Joy is the constant companion of the woman who trusts in the Lord.
And while you can find it in friends, family, and circumstances, unfailing, persistent joy will only ever overflow from your relationship with Jesus.
Just ask Job, the man from Uz who clung to God’s goodness while all his worldly joys were stripped away.
But how is it possible to hold onto such joy in times of sorrow?
In this 7-session study by Lisa Harper, discover the redemptive facet of Job’s suffering.
Learn to view pain as a way to strengthen your faith, point others to the gospel, and trust in the Lord.
